Works with adults (18+) and adolescents (16+) from February 2027
You do not need to have the right words. You do not need to understand it all before coming to therapy.
Therapy offers a space to explore what is happening, understand yourself more deeply, and begin to make sense of experiences that may have felt difficult to navigate alone.
I'm Myra, a pre-accredited counsellor and psychotherapist based in Cork. I work with adults aged 18 and over across a wide range of experiences. My approach is trauma-informed, relational and grounded in kindness, curiosity and respect.
Therapy offers a space where we can begin to make sense of difficult experiences together. Nothing has to be hidden, and nothing has to be shared before you're ready.
You do not need to know where to begin. We can begin with what is here.
The relationship matters. You are welcome to email me or arrange a brief phone call. This gives us a chance to talk about what is bringing you to therapy, answer any questions, and consider whether I am the right therapist for you.

How I work
I believe therapy works best within a relationship built on trust, honesty, and genuine human connection.
My role is not to tell you what to do or to decide what your experience means. We work together to understand what is happening, how your experiences may have shaped you, and what you may need now.
Nothing has to be shared before you are ready. You do not need to arrive with the right words or a clear goal. We can begin with what is here and move at a pace that feels manageable.
My work is grounded in psychodynamic and relational psychotherapy. It is also informed by trauma-informed, somatic, and neurobiological approaches. I pay attention to thoughts and emotions, alongside the ways experiences can be held in the body and nervous system.
There is no expectation to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. Therapy is not about getting it right. It is about making sense of your experiences together.
It offers a confidential and supportive space to explore difficult experiences, emotions, and patterns at a pace that feels manageable. Over time, this process can deepen understanding, strengthen self-awareness, and create the possibility for lasting change.
