Identity & life transitions
There are moments in life when we outgrow who we've been. Finding out who we're becoming isn't always easy.
Life has a way of changing us. Sometimes those changes happen suddenly. A relationship ends. You become a parent. You lose someone important. You start university. You retire. You move away from home.
Sometimes the changes happen more quietly. You begin questioning the life you've built. Things that once felt right no longer do. You notice yourself changing, but can't quite put into words what feels different.
Who am I when I'm no longer the person everyone expects me to be? What matters to me now? Where do I belong? How do I know what's really me and what's expected of me?
Questions around identity, sexuality, relationships, gender, purpose, or belonging can feel exciting, confusing, liberating, frightening, or all of those things at once.
There is rarely a map for these moments.

Change doesn't only ask us to let go of the past. Sometimes it asks us to discover ourselves for the first time.
Periods of transition often bring uncertainty. As one chapter ends and another begins, it can be difficult to know which parts of yourself still fit and which no longer do. Alongside excitement or hope, there can also be grief, self-doubt, anxiety, or the feeling that you've somehow lost your footing.
Identity is not something we discover once and keep forever. It continues to evolve throughout our lives as we grow, form relationships, experience loss, face challenges, and learn more about ourselves.
For young people, these questions are often a natural part of adolescence. For adults, they may emerge after major life events, changing relationships, parenthood, burnout, or simply the quiet realisation that life no longer feels the way it once did.
Therapy offers a space to explore these questions without judgement or pressure to have the answers. Together, we'll make sense of where you are now, explore what feels important to you, and create space for the person you're becoming, rather than the person you feel you should be.
